After the peak of the classical period came the Hellenistic period (after the death of Alexander). That period also produced remarkable works, full of emotion and realism, such “the horse and its horseman”(IInd century B.C.). This young rider looks rather small on his huge horse, carried away into a frenzied gallop, his looks strained by the tension of the ride. |
