THE CIMETARY OF CERAMICA |

In the lower part of the city, not far from the Agora, the cemetery of Ceramica can be found. Its name is due to the potters who used to live in this district. Here were buried rich citizens and metics, as well as famous men, those whom the state wanted to honour for service rendered, a great number of them having been killed at war. |
