      Statue of Athena Promachos (in arms), sculptured by Phidies, was made of
      bronze and was nine meter high. It was erected thanks to the plunders of
      the Median wars. It was carried away by Justinian to Constantinopole ; it
      disappeared during one of the sieges of the town. |
