| The northern
      portico, as opposed to (idée de contraste?) or opposite (idée de place?)
      the porch of the Caryatids, is made up of an elegant Ionic colonnade, the
      architrave and the frieze are made of blue marble from Eleusis. Above
      there is a coffered ceiling, the doorway is sumptuously ornamented. This
      portico housed the rock where Zeus's thunderbolt had left its mark, and an
      altar dedicated to Zeus. |
